Group Assignment:  Read "Pedagogy of Poverty Versus Good Teaching" - Martin Haberman
Presentation: 5-8 min 

Begin to critically analyze the text (construct/build meaning). 
You are not summarizing the essay to present. 
Pick something specific within the article that you wish to discuss as a group.  
You have the autonomy of presenting anyway you want

Medium:
  • If you are using multi-media, please bring device to use in class that can be used with projector(ex. laptop computer)
  • If using power point, save in USB drive
  • YouTube does not work in class
  • If handing out material, please make sufficient copies

Rubric:
  • Everyone must participate
  • I will be providing FEEDBACK for each individual group
  • ORIGINALITY of presentation will be taken into account
  • Looking for thoughtful ANALYSIS and interpretations of the TEXT (Article)   


I have extended the due date for your Expanded Essay so  you can focus on your presentations
  • Due 10/1
  • Construct meaning, use your writing experience, use discussions in class to guide your paper
  • Use academic related information that we have used in class (Pedagogy/Metacognition/SDLvsTDL/Standardized Testing/Rhetorical Reading/Intrinsic &Extrinsic motivation/Receptive vs Constructive etc.)
